Acrobat DC trial preventing re-install of Acrobat Pro X (CS6)?

I'm trying to re-install my CS6 Acrobat Pro X and I can't seem to do it with either the CS6 disc or the installer download from the Adobe site. Even if I get no prompts, like the "Quit SafariCloud etc" prompt, it still won't download like it should. Its very frustrating and confusing and I really need to have access to Acrobat Pro X again. I downloaded the trial of Acrobat DC from CC, which is now installed – could this possibly be the reason why I can't re-install my old copy? I'm completely confused about what to do, and really need to get my old copy downloaded, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I went through this misery along with my IT staff and several users in our department. After almost completely giving up, the solution that worked for me was to use Adobe Cleaner Tool to remove all traces of Acrobat DC and Acrobat X, then reinstall the Mac OS (ElCapitain) and then run the installer for Acrobat XI Pro on the refreshed OS.  It has been a VERY painful experience I might add; the revisions to the software in DC are very undesirable to the design & production staff at our mid-sized advertising agency. They tried to make it better in the course, maybe for some, but DC was not designed for folks like us who need advanced features and could care less about signing documents online.  The next GIANT step for Adobe would be to REMOVE the prompt for installation of DC on the Creative Cloud App.  Good Luck!

Well I may have to do that but I hope I don't have to go to that extent. But thank you for your answer. And I haven't explored DC that much so I can't say much about it, but revamping the interface so much doesn't seem to do anyone whose used to the older one any favors. As of right now I'm getting install errors after removing DC, which is better than before when I wasn't getting anything.

Read Cloud takes over https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2089127 for some ideas (see reply #1)

-includes information on how to stop the update manager and/or Cloud from running at startup

-above is for Windows, but may help with ideas for Mac

Im so confused. I tried the Cleaner Tool – no traces of Acrobat absolutely anywhere as far as I can find, but obviously it's somewhere because I'm still getting this:

CC Desktop was removed. But the same problem and the same things after the installation fails:

Exit Code: 6

Please see specific errors below for troubleshooting. For example,  ERROR: DW003 ...

I don't want to post so much but maybe this will help clarify somehow. I'm about to just do what was suggested before and re-install El Capitan and then Acrobat X, etc.
