Acrobat Pro 2015 export to word or html fails

I need to convert a few pdf's to html pages and word docx's. I notice that pdf's generated from InDesign or Photoshop usually save but in this instance I need to save an Ibooks Author generated pdf and I get

EXPORT SAVE AS FAILS TO PROCESS

I did re save the file in Acrobat

is this an Apple Adobe compatibility issue?

The pdf like is only 6.4MB so I know its not the size.

I just ran in to a similar problem trying to export a PDF to a Text file. A file is created, but no data. And, yes, I am on a Mac running El Capitan with the newest safety update.

Similar problem here too. Cannot convert a PDF exported from InDesign to HTML page. (Still running on Yosemite 10.10.5, though)
