After we install the product and enter our serial number, we can briefly see that the pro version was installed. Then it asks us to log into our adobe account to activate. After doing so, the product launches as acrobat standard instead of pro.
We have tried reinstalling multiple times using download links that that adobe chat support provided. We have also tried using the uninstaller utility before installing and the same thing happens.
After several sessions of chat support, they advised us to try the forums instead.

Please uninstall the Acrobat application (if on Windows use cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs ) and restart your system.
Then re-install it from this link: Download Pro or Standard versions of Acrobat DC, XI, or X

Hi Meenakshi, we have tried that several times with the aid of Adobe Chat Support and the issue remains unresolved. I've verified that the file is the same.
The user is still unable to activate the product without it being downgraded to the standard version.
