Acrobat pro DC printing causes crashes and other issues

My client installed dc pro on several of their machines several months back and have reported to me today that since then they get issues when trying to print. Some times the program will freeze or just close on them when going to print and other times they will go into print and when they select properties in the print window nothing pops up and it does it for every printer. They are currently on version 15.016.20045 and when i checked for updates today no updates were available. It does not happen every time but closing the program out and reopening it or rebooting the machine fixes it for a while. They are an architecture firm so they do work with some large pdf files around 320 MB but most of them are only around 30- 70 MB on the high side. They all have i7's with 16 Gb of ram and plenty of HD space and when checking performance, memory and cpu aren't even at half. Its about 7 machines all having the same issue since they installed pro. One user stated it is usually when she has several pdf's open but we cant recreate the issue each time. Any help would be appreciated.

Try to disable protected mode, Open Acrobat>Edit>Preferences>Protected View>off
