Acrobat Pro XI crashes when more than 2 pdfs are open

Longstanding problem -- Acrobat Pro XI running on a Macbook Air with El Capitan 10.11.4 crashes frequently -- whenever I open a second or third pdf.  My job requires having multiple pdfs of clinical articles open at once, and be able to search them and use annotating.  These crashes happen multiple times each day.  I have the latest update of the software.  Is there some way to clear the cache or preferences that might fix this and enable me to perform my job?

Thanks.

Hi ,

How do you access the PDF'?

Within Acrobat or double clicking on them?

Do you experience the crash with random files or is there some pattern ?

Try accessing some sample files and see if you still experience the crash .

Also let us know if there is any error messages.

By double-clicking.

I'll have to come back to this later, I have a deadline now.
