Acrobat Pro XI in Windows 10 does not display the document

I have Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and after recently upgrading to Windows 10 I see there is now a blue icon which appears to be some sort of media button displayed over the top of the normal PDF file type icon. When I open PDF files now the text/image area remains a dark grey color and the document cannot be viewed. If I open it with Adobe Acrobat Reader I can view the text/images in the document. How do I restore functionality to Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and what does the blue icon mean?
