Has worked fine for a long time.  Tried a different scanner same problem.  Using Acrobat X, Windows 10

Acrobat X is not compatible with Windows 10.

It may or may not work properly.

Try troubleshooting steps provided in this KB doc : Troubleshooting tips for scanner issues when using Acrobat
