Acrobat X Std - set page size for PDF from combined files

I'm running Acrobat X Standard on Windows 10.  I need to create an A4-sized PDF by combining HTML files.  However the result is always US Letter-sized.  I've set the Adobe PDF printer options to A4 with no change in the result.  What do I need to do to create A4 pages instead of Letter ones?

After much effort I've found the answer.  This will also work for other page sizes.

  1. Open Acrobat X.
  2. Ignore the Getting Started and click on Create (top left) and choose Create PDF from Web Page.
  3. Click the Settings button.
  4. On the General tab, unclick ‘Place headers and footers on new page’.
  5. On the Page layout tab, choose page size A4, make top and bottom margins 0 cm and unclick ‘Switch to landscape’
  6. Click OK to close the settings box.
  7. Click Cancel to close the Create PDF from web page box.  Your new settings will have been saved.

Now do the Combine from files and the result will be A4-sized (or whatever other page size you chose above).

I hope this helps someone else with the same problem.
