acrobat XI Pro freezes when attempting to scan using Canon D1120

Seems like every time I have not used the scanner in 24 hours I have a problem with the scanning features.   Everything on the printing side works okay.  Currently using Canon D1120 printer with windows 10.  Previously used Windows 7 with no problems.  Latest version (11.0.17) of Acrobat Pro XI.  Have the latest printer drivers (previously removed the printer drivers, reloaded, contacted canon with no improvement in the process).

each time I want to scan, I have to unplug the scanner, restart the computer and then reattach the scanner for the program to work again.   I have removed the program, reinstalled, changed location of USB connection on my computer.

Sorry for the issue you are facing. Please try some solutions available under Troubleshooting tips for scanner issues when using Acrobat . I hope it will resolve your issue.

Thanks.

Tried all of those solutions previously and did not work. Attempted to try the WAI version for scanning and adobe has “frozen”.

The problem seems to lie when the scanner has been in “idle / sleep” mode for an extended period of time. Acrobat is not able to “wake” the scanner up.

LATEST

Issue might be that Acrobat or any other third party software can't wake your scanner up and they wait for the scanner to respond. In this scenario it should wait for some time and cancelled the process after that.

What happen if you try to scan from any other app or Scanner's utility instead of Acrobat in same scenario.

Are you getting any error like 'Scanning cancelled' if you wait for few minutes?

Thanks.
