Acrobat XI why is office PDFmaker addin tool not avalible for Office 2016 The XI version is not old and not paying for DC just for that reason.

What do have a major concern with is that Office 2016 is not supported for PDFmaker addins as in all other versions of MS Office products. My Acrobat XI is still a very young program as it was purchased just about sixteen months ago and yet it is not properly being supported by Adobe. Just because Adobe Acrobat DC was release it not only bumped version XI it seems to had caused my XI version to be left in the dirt. There is no reason that the addin for PDFmaker should not support MS office 2016. The addins appears in the MS office 2016 addin list but does nothing. There is not button tool in any ribbon or tabs as in previous versions of MS office. When I called Adobe support all I received is that PDF maker addin for MS Office 2016 is not supported and there is no inclination of making it so. This is wrong for folks who own Adobe Acrobat XI still fairly new software version. I’m not paying for another updated version when I do not need too as of yet. Will this be resolved.

"XI" became "old" as soon as "DC" was released. That's how it goes with any software.

"XI" will get bug and security fixes up until it passes into End-of-Support (something like 4 or 5 years after initial release).

Software updates to stay in sync with changes to the current OSs and supported productivity software (e.g., Office) get provided for the currently sold release.

That's how it goes with any software.

Annoying at times but not something hidden away.

Be well...

So XI skipped over support for MS office 2016 and we are force to spend over $400.00 because you feel like it? You know what, I’ll just load one of several PDF programs that actually offer ribbon tools for PDF file creation and print and edit and spend one tenth of the cost of DC. In other words, I'm done trying to make sense of the way you folks screw folks who were loyal customs for years.

"Skipped over"? Nope - 2016 came along well after DC's release & DC deprecated XI.

SOP for software houses -- the new version deprecates whatever came before.

"You folks"  - 'less there is a "Staff" badge a participant here is like all others - mere end-users of the product.

Thanks but it doesn’t matter any longer. I have had enough of being screwed by software. I tried of playing by the rules and stayed away from pirate software and such as I paid heavily for software. I absolutely refuse to be sucked into this subscription hype and high dollar purchases. What it comes down to is only well sited businesses can afford fresh software any longer. The individual user and small business are doing whatever it takes including to buy pirate copies and keys. I am done with Adobe Acrobat and other products from Adobe. I tried to play nice but I get kicked. If I had known that my not even two-year-old copy of XI was going to be old and crippled right after I purchased it, I would have not bought it. Microsoft as well could care less that other products are not supporting their products. The end user is left with junk-ware before the ink dries on the credit card slip. Thankfully there are some very well suited PDF products that will create PDFs and can be edited offer form security and offer MS Office 2016 64-bit Ribbon Tools for less than a third of the cost of Adobe DC. I have used acrobat since 2003 version 6 and have pushed several purchase of Acrobat Pro and Photoshop for various business. It would seem Adobe has lost its way with and could care less about the folks who kept them in business from the early days.

You upgraded Word. This is boosting Microsoft's profits. So Adobe should run after Microsoft and fix it for free? So Adobe subsidise Microsoft. No, would be wrong. You upgrade one piece of software, expect to pay for compatibility fixes in others. Anything else is wrong.

I solved this by opening Word as Administrator. Your mileage may vary.
