AcroPDDoc.save stopped working after Nov 18/21 Windows 10 update

My application which loops through multiple pdf documents, copies from a template, opens, populates fields with data and saves stopped working after the November 18, 2021 Windows update.  I have tried different save flags (first parameter on the save), the close function (does not work), upgrading to Windows 11 (still does not work).  Is anyone experiencing similar behaviour?

One more bit of info...  When I go to the pdf file using acrobat and try to close it, the "save as" dialog box comes up rather than just saving the file.  The problem may be with the open function.
