I'm no longer able to open PDF files with Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard. When I attempt to open a PDF file, I get a message indicating "You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling the product or contacting your IT administrator or Adobe customer support for help.". I contacted Adobe customer support and they referred me to the Forum. Is Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard still available? If not, what was it replaced with? Suggestions?

Acrobat 9 is no longer supported by Adobe. It's also not compatible with the current operating systems, like Windows 10 or even Windows 8, so problems are to be expected if you use it on such a system.

Acrobat 9 (in Standard and Pro versions) was replaced by Acrobat 10 (X), which is also out of support. Then by Acrobat 11 (XI). The current version doesn't have an obvious number but is called DC. This is best purchased by subscription, which includes the future upgrades you're sure to need as systems change ever faster (e.g. a new Windows 10 every year).
