I have not been able to Update Adobe Acrobat Standard DC, it is currently at Version 15.006.30096. I understand that there is a vulnerability, and was trying to upgrade using the updater utility. The updater downloads the file, then you get a pop up window that says update failed (there is no error code).
So I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Acrobat Standard DC, same issue.
Here are the steps followed:
Help | Check for Updates
Adobe Acrobat Standard DC Updater replies that there is an update available, Download is selected.
Adobe Acrobat Standard DC replies that "Update is Ready to Install". Install is selected.
Microsoft Windows User Account Control Displays: "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?" Yes is selected.
Adobe Updater replies "Update Failed". There are no error messages provided in the pop-up.
The workstation affected is running Windows 7 Professional (x64) Service Pack 1 (Build 7601).

Out of curiosity, I selected "Details" from the Update Failed "Pop-up". this routed me to
I was then able to successfully download and install acrobat2015upd1500630094.msp. I then subsequently downloaded and installed acrobat2015upd1500630198.msp which was another planned update (Classic Track).
Then I was able to get the Adobe Acrobat updater to perform the next and final update to Version 15.006.30201.
So the problem is resolved? What caused it in the first place? Was the process of manually applying updates the correct way to resolve the issue? It fixed the problem, but is that "Best Practice".
Can anyone tell me the difference between the Continuous Track and Classic Track insofar as updates goes?

Note that the "Details" was selected from the first "Update is Available" pop-up that occurs once you select Help | Check for Updates, not from the "Update Failed" Pop-Up.
