I downloaded Adobe Acrobat DC and updated it manually to version
2015.006.30198
on a Windows Server 2008R2 64bit
but it still doesn't start, it just shows an Adobe Application Manager error with following details:

This solution doesn't work, there are no preference folders inside the location of the article you referred to. Maybe because no user was ever able to use acrobat dc on this server and it was the first installation.

Hhich hidden folders? There are no preference folders in the roaming profiles inside the location mentioned in the article you referred to.

then uninstall (using the uninstaller), clean per ,Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs , restart your computer and reinstall acrobat dc.

Is the crash happening every time you are launching the Acrobat application ?
Can you please share the crash dumps and the following log files present at "%temp" folder on your machine
