I have CS6 on my computer (activated using a serial number), and the Acrobat becomes inactive occasionally, which I have managed by uninstalling and reinstalling it. However, this time, when I run the Set-up (installer), I get the error, "Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem." When I click on the link "Get Adobe Support Advisor," I get the message, "The Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued." I thought my version of Set-up might be corrupted, so I re-downloaded CS6, but the new version of Set-up throws the same error. I would appreciate any advice on how to resolve this problem, so I can get Acrobat up and running again.

Thank you, I did not think that this solution applied to me, as I am running CS6 as a desktop application (not as part of the CC). I have tried it, and it works!
