Recently adobe x standard will not open on my computer, not from start menu not from task bar and not by clicking a .pdf file

Tried to repair installation but wont work.

Did a system restore to a time it was working and still does not work.

Running windows 7 pro 64 bit.

Help anyone else having this issue?

The icon changes color as if it were going to start but after 2-3 seconds nothing happens.

I have had the task manager open to see if the process starts which it does but then it closes immediately.  I have used cleaner to try to fix any registry issues and no luck however in the files that cleaner deletes there is a . Dmp file for every instance that has tried to run.  I have also tried to rename the cache.db file to .old so I could reregister product but that does not work either....
