[Bug?] Acrobat DC 2014.010.20056 not detecting Flash Player, fixed by reinstalling identical version.

We have a number of PDFs with SWFs embedded in them, and earlier this week users began seeing a banner saying we need to install the required version of Flash Player

The "Learn More" button directs us here: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/flash-player-needed-acrobat-reader.html

Which tells us to install the ActiveX version of FP, which we already have at the latest (as of the incident) version 20.0.0.306.

Sometimes reinstalling the latest from the standard site ( https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ ) ‌fixes the issue, in others we had to install both ActiveX and "plugin" versions from the help link to make it function again.  Again, these computers appeared to have identical FP configurations prior to the incidence of this error.

Other users with the same DC and Flash version have seen no issues.  Chat support indicated that this is not a known bug, but this could be a large problem for our clients who have thousands of users who rely on Flash-enhanced PDFs and don't have privileges to reinstall their Flash Players.  Has anyone experienced this issue?  Is there a known cause?

Thanks
