Can't Delete Drawing Objects on PDF

I'm working with this PDF, trying to make changes to it; and one of the main things I'm trying to do is delete some drawn lines on the PDF. The weird thing is, for awhile I was successfully selecting and deleting the stuff I wanted to get rid of, and then suddenly Acrobat just stopped letting me select and delete the drawn pieces any further.

If you look at the screenshot below, you'll see, underneath where it says "Litigation - Open/Closed - Civil Defendant", that there is an object that would be a rectangle if it wasn't missing its right side. Well this object initially looked just like the two below it; but then I started selecting and deleting its edges, one by one. My intent was to delete all three of these objects; but after a few deletions, Acrobat suddenly stopped letting me select and delete the rest of them. I can't imagine what could be the explanation for this. I have exited out and re-entered the program several times, and nothing I do enables me to select and delete these pieces.

Does anybody know what the problem might be?
