Can't get a Mac to recognize a Brother scanner

New Here ,

I have a Brother printer/scanner J485DW set up on a home network. I have recently added a Mac (OS 10.11) to the network, running Acrobat Pro DC. Acrobat prints to the Brother, although I did have to give the Mac the Brother's IP address for it to be found. But, when I try to scan, no scanner appears. And, in system preferences, the Brother is just listed as a "printer," not a "printer/scanner." Help. Thanks.

I think issue should not be from Adobe's side. Please do 1 thing to confirm the same.

Go to Image Capture utility of MAC and try to scan with same scanner. If you are still getting this issue and not able to scan, that means issue is with scanner driver.

Please install latest Scanner driver on Mac 10.11 OS. It may ask you that scanner is connected via LAN or USB. Select accordingly and complete installation. Only ICA scanner driver will be available for MAC in Acrobat DC.

Also please try the solution provided under Troubleshooting tips for scanner issues when using Acrobat

Hope it will resolve your issue.

Thanks.
