Can't print PDF files with DC and from Windows 7 Pro

It all began with Adobe Acrobat DC. Since then, I can't print PDF files (no issues with any other documents from any other softwares), and I get no indication that a print job was even sent.  Progress shows 0% and disappears within seconds. There are no print jobs waiting in the print queue. I downloaded a previous version of Adobe Acrobat, and even with that now I get the same problem.  Never had it before.

I tried different printers: Epson and HP... no luck.

And yet once in 8 or 10 times, it will print... I can't figure out by what miracle.

I have spent countless hours reading this forum and the internet - have tried all sorts of proposed "solutions" in total vain.  Any "serious" help appreciated...

No it does not work.  As I said, I tried everything listed on the forum.  Even looked at the number of characters for my printers... all have 10 or more so even that (more than weird) workaround proposed by Adobe does not work.  Awaiting a serious solution.

Thank you.
