Hi tenleyvan,

Could you please tell if you want to make Acrobat XI default for opening pdf documents?

Or do you want to open pdf in Microsoft Edge?

To make Acrobat XI default for opening pdf document, right click on any pdf file>click Open with>Choose another app>select Adobe Acrobat from the list>check the box "Always use this app to open .pdf files">OK

Same goes for Microsoft Edge, select Microsoft Edge from the list instead of Adobe Acrobat.

Let us know if you face any issue.

Thank You!Shivam

I had done that but I get the message below. Started out that I would open an attachment from Outlook in Acrobat, and it would close within 15 seconds or so. So I uninstalled and downloaded anew. Since then, documents keep opening in Microsoft Edge and I can’t find a way to stop it. So I have to save the file, then open Acrobat and open the document. Way too cumbersome.

I was not able to see the attachment.

Please perform the following steps:

Press Windows+R key on your keyboard>type control>select Default Programs>Associate a file....>find .pdf from the list,click on it>click Change program>select Adobe Acrobat>OK

Sorry, Windows 10, Office 2016. Acrobat continues to close within 20 seconds. First think this morning when I turned the computer on, when I opened Acrobat, it stayed up for a couple of minutes. Thought things were fixed. Just as I was ready to apply my signature – it closed. Since then, it only stays open for 30 seconds or so. Setting Acrobat as the default for PDF files does work now, for some unknown reason.
