New Here ,
May 15, 2016 May 15, 2016

OS: windows 10

acrobat pro DC 15.016.20039

when I choose "Convert to Adobe PDF" from right-click menu to convert word or excel files to pdf, an error message is shown "Unable to find "Adobe PDF" Printer or "Acrobat Distiller" printer. Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?"

even I ran the repair mode, I saw the same error message again.

I then try to create pdf from acrobat pro DC, another error message is shown "Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files. Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?"

again, even I ran the repair mode, I saw the same error message!

I reinstall acrobat pro DC, but the same problem happened again!

please help!

Hi alnchn ,

Please check with following steps :-

Solution 1

Uninstall and then re-install Acrobat on your Windows OS.

Solution 2

Manually install the PDF Printer

  • Click Start >  Control Panel > Devices and Printers
  • Select Add a printer
  • Select Add a local printer
  • Check Use an existing port and select Documents\*.pdf (Adobe PDF) from the drop down.  ClickNext
  • Click the Have Disk… button
  • Click the Browse… button
  • Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF
  • Select AdobePDF.inf from the list, then click the OK button
  • You will see many Adobe PDF Converters in the list, however count six down from the top and clickNext (you may need to try this numerous times to find the correct Converter from the list that works with your version of Windows)
  • Name your printer, e.g. Adobe PDF
  • Follow the rest of the prompts and your PDF printer should now be installed correctly

If you are later prompted for the ADPDF9.PPD file, it can be found in the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF\<OS version> folders.

Let  me know how it goes,

Regards,

Yatharth

I'm having the same problem and I believe it started due to a recent Windows 10 update. I uninstalled and reinstalled DC just now and am still getting the same error. When I tried Solution 2, my C:\Program Files (x86)\Acrobat shows Acrobat 9 and Acrobat 2015 as choices. I navigated to Xtras from the 2015 folder with this link and have the following to choose from:

I can't find the AdobePDF.inf file anywhere.

Hi jessicak43211218,

You have the inf files there. All the files which are type "Setup information" are inf files. You have files extension hidden.

You may try the suggestions from this link: Manually installing PDF Printer

Regards,

Tariq Ahmad.
