Catalog with order form

I've created a catalog in Adobe Acrobat XI Version 11.0.11 on a Windows 7 operating system that has a couple hundred items broken down in 20 pages.  I would like the user to be able to click on the item they want to place it on an order form.  In theory they would click on the item, it would bring up a window asking the quantity and the user can click a button that says Add to order.  Once complete the user can see their order by clicking on the View Order button.  Once confirmed they would be able to send the order to our company via email.  Is this possible in Adobe?  Is it something I would be able to do on my own or would you recommend I find a programmer who could help me?

It can be done, yes. You would need to create an empty order form with all of the fields and then use a script that is attached to a button next to each item to prompt the user to enter the quantity they want to order. That information is then populated into the order form.

The order form can have a Submit button that will email the entire file,or just the form data, back to you.

This kind of thing will require the development of a custom-made script, though.

Thanks for the info, I've never written a script.  Do you think it is something I could figure out or would I need some help?

I'm not sure this is a project that's suitable for a complete novice with Acrobat JS.

You can probably do it on your own and learn as you go. By the 4th or 5th time you start over, you might actually have something that works. That's what it was like for me 20 years ago.

Hire somebody... trust me... not me though. I hate programming forms... mostly because of what I said above.
