Converting pdf to ppt keeps timing out and failing.  I've used this tool before on larger files successfully.  This morning 2 different files failed.

How are you converting? With pdfmaker (the Acrobat tab in PPT)?

Does a simple one page ppt convert or is it all files?

Does printing to the Adobe PDF printer work?

If you split your document in half does it convert?

I'm using Adobe Document Cloud - Export PDF.

Yes, a smaller document does convert successfully.

I'm not sure how to print to an Adobe PDF printer or split the document in half.

OK, so you are using the Document Cloud online service and not the desktop app.

The file size limit for conversion is 100mb. Is your file bigger than that?

No, the files I'm trying to convert are between 6 - 9 mb.  I've previously successfully converted a file that was 24 mb.

Thanks.

Could something be blocking this. For example, if you are in an office environment, have their been changes to network settings such as firewall restrictions or proxy settings causing a block?

Alternatively, are you experiencing a restricted internet service at the moment? Are other sites slow?

If you are able to share the source PDF via Document Cloud (Send and Track) or another service such as Dropbox I can try.

It is a work network, but I don't know of anything that's changed since the last time I converted a doc and I've not had any restricted access on anything else.  I'll try later on to see if I can get this to work on my home internet service.  If all else fails I can send you the document, but it is for school so I'm sure copyright laws apply.  I wouldn't want to put it anywhere that's accessible to others.

alisterblack, I've now tried the Export PDF process on several files ranging between 6 - 9 MB, on two different computers, on both my work and home networks.  It failed / timed out on every try.  The only conclusion I can draw from this is that there's a problem with the Adobe Document Cloud service.  Please advise on next steps.

Hi,

I have tested Document Cloud without any issues. It may be that there are elements in the document that are causing an issue.

It is difficult to test that without working with the document, but any document that shows the issue would also work. If you have concerns with sharing it you may prefer to deal directly with our Customer Support rather than on a public forum. Contact Customer Care

Another suggestion would be to try with another browser in case this is a browser issue.

I attempted the conversion with Firefox in addition to Chrome with same results.  I also attempted to convert a file that I had previously converted successfully, but now that conversion fails.  Customer support would not attempt to convert the file themselves.  All they would do is escalate to the next level of support - with a 3-day turnaround time!  The fact that ExportPDF is failing on files it previously converted successfully and are less than a tenth of the size that the service is supposed to be able to handle continues to indicate that this is a processor/memory issue.

I converted larger files without an issue. If you want to send me a private message with a link to your file I would be happy to take a look.

Can you tell me what address I should send the file to?  I see an email link on your communities page, but it doesn't allow me to attach files.
