I have Acrobat X Pro. I installed "Create Bookmark Report" action. I opened a file that contains several pages of bookmarks and the new action appeared in the action list. It appeared to run fine, and it generated a bookmark file, but the file is empty.

Can you explain this? bookmarks doesn't have pages.

Well of course, Mr. MVP, bookmarks don't have pages. But when you create a report, or a csv file and open it in excel, you have pages. I have a file that contains 250 bookmarks. If I create a report or excel file and print it, it will print on many pages. The problem is when I run the action (did I say that right), I get a blue box that contains nothing, and a csv file that is empty.

May be that the file is protected.

Perhaps the author, Rick Borstein, is around and familiar with the problem. Do you know him or know how to contact him? I'm new here.

Rick didn't actually write those Actions, I did. Check the download file, you'll see my company logo on it.

Protection could cause a problem with the action, but I'm skeptical. Something that could be an issue is if one of the bookmarks did something other than navigating to a page in the PDF. There is another issue. I updated that Action for Acrobat XI a few years ago. If you are using that Action in Acrobat X, it might not work properly. The script isn't any different, but the Action XML grammar has some differences.
Check the console window for errors, this may tell us more.

Does anyone besides me still use Acrobat 10? Perhaps this action is not compatible with W7 or W10, and hasn't been updated in a while.

Hi meyco,
The Create Bookmark Report Action for Acrobat X is also still available in the Actions Exchange at the old Acrobat users web site- you just have to select the radio button at the top of the list for the correct version of Acrobat, then that will return all of the Acrobat X specific Actions. Some changes were made in Acrobat that caused Actions for X not to work in XI and visa versa. If you are using the Acrobat XI Action that could be why it isn't working.
Good luck,
Dimitri
