Creating Letter Sized scans

New Here ,
May 08, 2016 May 08, 2016

I am using Adobe 9 Pro. When I scan 8 1/2 x 11 pages into Acrobat, the resulting "Cropped page size" is 46.056 x 35.306 inches. The Fixed Sizes control under te Change Page Size control will not allow me to select "Letter".  The Custom control for the Change Page Size does not work either. I tried exporting the document to WORD, but the pages contained only a portion of the pdf image. Can this be remedied?

Hi Laurence -

If you're using Windows, choose Help > Repair Acrobat Installation and let the program review and correct its programmed components. That may resolve the problem.

Do you need the scanned content to be selected text? One option may be to scan the pages, and then capture the screens of the pages at 100% size, which you can then put together into a single PDF file. That is an excruciatingly long workaround, but would get the job done if you're under time constraints.

Thank you for your response. I tried the Help>Repair Acrobat Installation function twice -- did not help. As a follow-up to that advise, I also removed the installation and reinstalled from the disk. Again, the image wants the paper size to be 46 X 35 inches.

Hi Laurence -

I'm afraid I don't have any other useful ideas for you. I'd recommend you contact tech support and see if they can help you live.
