Hy everyone,
I bought a new Mac Retina, running on El Capitan and tried to instal my CS6.
Though the instalation supposingly couldn´t be completed, the programs seem to work.
Only I can´t open my Acrobat Pro, when putting my serialnumber, is says it is not correct.
Apple regards CS6 as so outdated (I bought it 4 years ago!) that they didn´t make sure it is running on the new El Capitan.
And Adobe regards it as so outdated, that they don´t offer support.
But today I was lucky to get support from the chat, when I had the same problem with Photoshop. (the serialnumber wasn´t recognized)
I was told to open the host file in my etc folder > save it on the desktop > delete all adobe content > save it > overwrite the old hosts file in the etc folder with the new file and it should work. It did for Photoshop.
Does someone know how to solve the problem for Acrobat Reader too?
Thank you!

reader is free and is used to read pdf files.
acrobat is the program that allows creation and editing of pdf files.
even though your error message may not seem related to the issue discussed in this link, try it:

Hi kglad, thank you for your message, but it doesn´t help in my case.
Ps: I ment to write Acrobat Pro instead of Acrobat Reader. Sorry for that!

if your acrobat pro is part of cs6 (and your serial number is for cs6), you must use the cs6 installation files.

I have CS5 so it may not be the same, but when I bought CS5 Master Collection Acrobat came on a separate disc with a separate serial number
Is your Acrobat on a separate install disc?
