There are three basic cursor options:

a) select text (cross-hairs) - keyboard shortcut = V

b) pan (hand) - keyboard shortcut = H

c) basic default arrow cursor - keyboard shortcut  = T

But right now, the cursor that appears whenever i open a pdf is the crosshairs cursor. How do i force adobe to revert back to the normal cursor?

GO TO EDIT > PREFERENCES > ACCESSIBILITY > UNCHECK ''ALWAYS DISPLAY THE KEYBOARD SELECTION CURSOR''. IF THE ANNOYING FLASHING HAPPENS AGAIN WHEN YOU CLICK AN IMAGE, IT'S BECAUSE YOU PURPOSELY CLICKED THE I-BEAM / ARROW ICON NEXT TO THE HAND ICON IN THE TOOLBAR BEFORE YOU CLOSED THE DOCUMENT LAST TIME.
