Hi.

When viewing a PDF from a web page via Internet Explorer, the default save location is the desktop.

Where can I change the default save location?

Thanks.

Hello to all,

I just can't figure where to modify the default save location when viewing a PDF in IE11 with Adobe PDF Reader ActiveX.

It doesn't use the last save location. It always goes to the Desktop.

I have the same behavior under Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 with IE11 and Adobe Acrobat DC.

Please help.

It can't be changed, unfortunately.

try67, thank you for your reply.

Indeed, this is most unfortunate. We chose Adobe Acrobat DC as our corporate PDF solution and this behavior is a pain in the neck. We now have to click 3-5 more times to get to the correct save location. I don't know if this is a limitation on the part of IE or simply a misstep in the ActiveX programming, but we are very disappointed. We are in 2016 and I'm amazed by the number of "hardcoded" choices incorporated in today's programming.

Well, we won't change the world today.

I'll be looking for another PDF solution.

Thanks again try67 for your help.

Well, in my case, on several installations, with the combination up to date of Windows 10 or 8.1, IE11 and Adobe Acrobat DC, all with default configuration, it uses the Desktop not the last save location. Having the last save location would be preferable to the Desktop, but how can I change the behavior I'm seeing in my installations?

I don't know. It is a simple installation of Acrobat Reader DC.
