Hello,
I'm using Adobe LiveCycle ES4 to update an older form that was built by someone else. Previous form was opened in Adobe Pro X, saved with Save As Other, Reader Extended PDF, Enable more tools. This allowed users who only have Adobe Reader to fill out, save and use the built in buttons to email the form back to me for processing.
My software was updated to the following:
Windows 7 Enterprise.
Adobe Reader DC
Adobe XI Pro
Adobe LiveCycle ES4
I have no access to OS and settings, as it is a company network and tightly controlled. I can only modify settings within the programs.
Following the same process above, users using Adobe Reader DC are unable to save or use the submit button to send me back the form. The following message appears when you click anywhere in the document: “Sending Data Files by Email. Please Note: This form contains an email submit button. Clicking will email a
data file containing data you type in this formn. However, the form itself will not be sent. Remember, you cannot save a completed version of this form with Adobe Reader 9 or later.” Once you click ok, you can fill out the form, but the email button does nothing.
Using LiveCycle ES4, I have tried to save down to version Adobe 8, but it will not let me go below Adobe 9. Using Adobe XI Pro, I can save to Reader Extended, and they can save, but the email button functionality does not work.
Help – could it be one of my settings in LiveCycle or Pro?
Button settings in LiveCycle are set to:
Control Type: Submit
Submit : mailto:email;email?subject=text
Submit as: PDF
Data Encoding: UTF-8
Any guidance on settings, etc would be greatly appreciated.
Camille
