embedding images

I need to have my PDF of a book ready for Create Space.  It says to make sure certain settings are chosen such as: fonts and images embedded; doc security is not used; transparent objects flattened, spreads and printers marks disabled, downsampling is disabled; bleeds are enabled.  Where do I find these settings to be sure they are correct for my documents???

Embedding images is a weird requirement because they ALWAYS are. For the others, how are you creating the book? Indesign export? Can you give the URL of these recommendations, there seem to be some important things missing.
