Empty boxes in table cell in PDF save from Microsoft Word

When saving a Word file as a PDF, the resulting PDF has weird boxes in some table cells (and words that aren't in the Word doc). Any ideas how to fix this? Another person saved the PDF from the same file and did not have this issue.
