Hi,
It would be nice if the registered protocol handler for Acrobat Reader was enhanced to support an extended URI scheme just like Microsoft Office does. This would allow 3rd party web applications to open Acrobat Reader from a web page, using the specified web resource, and without the use of an ActiveX component. Furthermore editing, commenting, etc. would be possible if the provided web resource is valid WebDAV class 2 resource. Just the same way as SharePoint integrates to Microsoft Office.
Office URI Schemes

Example.
acrobat:ofe|u|http://your_server/folder/Document.pdf
Kind regards
