Error building the sample plugin BasicPlugin.acroplugin

I'm attempting to enable a sample plugin for Acrobat DC on Mac OS X. The sample is BasicPlugin.

I'm getting an error when I try to build the plugin from Xcode: "The run destination My Mac is not valid for Running the scheme 'BasicPlugin_debug'"

I'm using OS X El Capitan 10.11.3

xcode 7.2.1

Acrobat DC SDK for Mac

I set the Base SDK to the latest OS X, no luck.

It's unclear to me if I'm using the right tools for this job.

Was able to build the plugin for Windows but not yet on Mac.
