I have Acrobat XI Standard. My O/S is Windows 10, which I upgraded to from Windows 7 about 6 months ago. I recently have been unable to delete documents that I scanned into PDF format. I keep getting the message "Unable to delete because the document is open in another program" even though the document is NOT open in another program.

Please check whether is there any update available for the software after going through "help > check for updates "
Follow this thread to reset the preferences for the Acrobat software :- How to reset Preference settings in Acrobat.
Please check the preview pane should be disable in windows explorer .
Also the if the file is on network drive then move it to the local drive & then check .
Please check after repairing the program as well .
