Font isn't correct

New Here ,
May 04, 2016 May 04, 2016

Hello,

I am the IT support at my organization and one of the employees here has run into a problem I cannot solve. He has a few PDFs that are displaying a font different than intended.

So far, I've tried manually embedding fonts and that didn't really go anywhere. I tried a full uninstall/reinstall of the software. I also emailed the PDF to myself and opened it on my machine, both running the exact same version of Acrobat XI and the same OS, and it opened normally on my machine. So, it seems to be local to his machine and an issue with the fonts either not being embedded or not being embedded properly. He said it happens in multiple different PDFs and said they are from multiple different sources.

One other thing I tried, which may or may not be relevant, was saving the PDF as a .docx and opening it in MS Word and then saving it from there as a PDF and opening it again in Acrobat. This is a weird work-around that only kind of worked. The PDF opened with what seemed like the correct fonts in MS Word and then after re-saving it as a PDF had nearly the correct fonts. Some things were a bit off. From what I remember some things were in italics that shouldn't have been.

I'm sorry for the unclear information. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Thank you!
