Getting the right media player

I'm getting a "The media requires and additional player." error message when trying to view an embedded mp4 file in Acrobat...when I click the "Get Media Player" button, I then get a "Sorry, browsing is not allowed in this directory."...how can I get the correct media player?

So by doing a side by side comparison of the permissions in the machine that does not play the embedded video with the machines that do play...the Multimedia Trust (legacy) preference in the working machines include a "Permission for Adobe (R) Flash (R) Player is set to Prompt"

This permission is not in the preferences in the non working machine...there does not seem to be a way to "add" permissions...does anyone know how to do this? This is the only difference I can find between the systems that will play the clip and my system that won't...

And I tried the Adobe support chat...less than adequate results...VERY disappointing...
