Has anyone successfully used the "Generate bleed from page content" fixup preflight?

Community Beginner ,

I have used the upscaling method and that works fine but this method, which is supposed to create bleed by mirroring the edges, does not seem to work. I am obviously doing something wrong but I've no idea what. Can anyone please advise?
