Have new computer ... copied over PPDs can't figure out how to load/import. I put them in Library>Printers, but nothing loads as a preset in Acrobat. Also need a Postcript option so I can use Distiller. Can't load anything for that either. Any help appreciated! Thanks!

I can't just now visualise where in Acrobat you're looking at presets and expect to see a PPD. Can you take us through this step by step?

From what app do you want to use Distiller?

I don't think I explained that correctly... I was always able to write Postscript directly in InDesign (.ps files) from the "File" pull down menu. ("Print is second from the bottom) then I would Distill using Distiller. The feature is gone. (Distiller is okay) But the Postscript Print feature in InDesign is gone and I don't know how to locate and or/install.

Ok, so a PPD would show up in InDesign. But probably not any more... Apple took out a lot of things in current Mac OS.

But PostScript from InDesign is generally thought a Very Bad Thing and strenuously advised against. Exporting is the way to go.

Thank you!... so I should just use the regular PPD options already in InDesign (in Presets) or import PPDs from commercial printers? Can I be certain it will always embed fonts using this method?
