How do I open my own security password protected pdf's?

Hello everyone,

Back in 2007 I made about 15 different recipes books and then I secured them. I have my password but when I click the books — there isn't anything asking for my security code.

Can someone help?

I'd like to get in them to change ALL of the info that no longer exists.

How did you secure the files? Did you set an owner password, where you restricted certain functions?

If so, you are asked for that password only when you change the permissions. You do that in the Document properties, in the security tab where you change the setting to No Security. Change it, enter the password, when asked, and save the file under another name.

Important advice: Always keep a copy of the unprotected, unrestricted file around.

I secured the files in Open Office when I changed each of them to a PDF. Yes — I set my own password to each ebook.

Now they're in "Read" mode and I need to get into each one to update.

PDFs with a single open or owner password can be unlocked; however, double encrypted PDFs with two unknown passwords, both open and owner can not be unlocked. If you send me the PDF or post a link online I may be able to unlock it for you.

I can't begin to find the words to let everyone know how over the top NKOWA555 

was in solving my very difficult situation! Books are ready to redo and place on Amazon.

Maybe I can't begin to find the words because there aren't any to explain the time he invested to be kind.

Whenever I put up a book NKOWA555 — I will think of how you helped make it possible!
