I am creating a PDF form for my clients to fill out. I don't want my clients to be able to edit the document itself, only fill in the fields. I also want my clients to be able to protect their filled out form with a confidential password that I don't know. Theoretically, the fact that there is a separate Document Open Password and Permissions Password should help me out here. The problem is, I want to be able to set the Permissions Password myself, and my client to set the Open Password. The system assumes they are being made by the same person, and doesn't allow you to change the Open Password without first putting in the Permissions Password to change the settings. That defeats the purpose with regards to my plan, and here lies the problem.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

They can protect what they filled into the fields with a password that you can't know by using a digital signature.
You'll just need to add this field to your file and set it to lock all the fields when signed. The rest can stay the same.

Hmmm, interesting. But that means that ONLY the client can get in, right (with his/her signature)? I apologize for not being clear, but I want them to be able to share it with only a few people (by sharing a password only with them, or the something along those lines), but I'm included in the people they probably won't give it to. So it's nice that only they can get in, but I'm looking for a way that only the client and a select few can get in...

I don't think that's possible, but maybe someone else has another idea...
