How do I retrieve my Serial Number for Adobe Acrobat XI Standard?

I can't see the thumbnails for the pdf files in DC, so I uninstalled it and tried to install XI again - the standard version - and it asks me to put a serial number... and I don't find it! what 2 do?

Look at the picture. I can't see there "Adobe Reader XI Standard". I see "Adobe Acrobat XI Standard".

Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Acrobat Reader are two completely different product. The misleading names are not our responsibility and we cannot do anything about it.

There is no legal way of generating a serial number for any software (Adobe or other) that you haven't bought.

If you read the pic you will see that it says Adobe Acrobat XI Standard.  Sorry to be picky, but Acrobat Standard is one thing (which costs money) and Acrobat Reader is another thing (which is free). To help you we need to understand what you have.

If you never paid for it, the chances are you just had the free Acrobat Reader, which confusingly is also called Adobe Reader. The latest version (DC) no longer shows thumbnails, but Reader XI did. You can download it.

If you registered Adobe Acrobat XI Standard when you purchased it you should be able to recover your serial number by visiting www.adobe.com and logging in with the Adobe ID (email) you used when registered the software. Else contact Adobe with your proof of purchase details as per the link supplied previously

p.s. if you have never purchased the software, then please go and visit Adobe Acrobat Standard DC: PDF writer. You can either buy a copy of the software outright, or else pay a monthly fee.
