When I create new PDFs using the PDF print driver, the distiller creates a separate text file. How do I stop this from happening?
That “separate text file” is an error log file. There is an option for the Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver instance to remove such files if there is no error upon completion of PDF creation. Go to the driver properties' Advanced tab, press Printing Defaults, and in the resultant PDF Printing Defaults dialog, choose the Adobe PDF Settings tab. Check the box for Delete log files for successful jobs. Press OK. Press Apply. Press OK. The problem should be resolved for the next time you create PD

Note that if the Distiller does find an error, the log file remains and you should check that file for the error information.
