I converted to Adobe DC and suddenly am plagued with PDFs that cannot be OCRed in Adobe due to renderable text.
These are word 2016 documents saved as Adobe PDfs. Other than converting everything to tiffs, is there a way to solve this. These are files I never had trouble with before switching to Adobe DC from XI

In Acrobat Pro DC the only p;ace I have page displays options is in the Acrobat preference under page display. THere I do have all the smooth options chosen. I am unclear whether you want me to have them checked or unchecked.'
In the meantime I also learned that that my problem occurs only with Word docs saved as PDF or printed to pdf (and it does not matter whether I select save as PDF or save as Adobe pdf)
It also turns out that the word documents were ALREADY searchable. I can run OCR a second time on a PDF created from online material via a save, but if I ,mistakenly rerun OCR on a word doc it gives me the Renderable text message.
Is this new to DC Pro?
