How to change the default Text Box fonts/settings for an entire Acrobat X document:

New Here ,
Jan 14, 2016 Jan 14, 2016

I was trying to figure out how to change the default of the typewriter settings, since every time I added a new text box it would revert to the default. After a few searches I came across this article:

Acrobat/Reader X: how to set the default font and font size in the Typewriter tool

I don't think changing the registry for something like that would be a great idea, so I kept trying and figured out a much better way so I wanted to list it here (I couldn't comment on the original article, or I don't know how to, new to the blogs/forums on adobe):

1. Open the Tools bar on the right side of the screen.

2. Expand the "Content" tab.

3. Click "Add or Edit Text Box"

4. Click anywhere on the screen and type anything.

5. With the text box still active, change the settings shown in the Typewriter bar (Font, Color, Size).

6. On the Toolbar again, click the "Select Object" button.

7. Right Click on the text box you just made.

8. Click "Properties"

9. In the "Properties" window, check the box that says "Make Properties Default".

From this point on all Text boxes that you create will use the same font by default.

It seems like a lot of steps but it goes quickly and then you don't have to reset the font each time you try to enter something, as I did for many pages before I finally found this.
