I have opened nine PDF documents and now have one document with nine tabs. How do I save this as one Master PDF file?

Using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC you can use the "Combine" feature which can combine many PDF files into one PDF file.
Be well...

Going back to what the original question was, is there a way to combine directly from the tabs rather than going through file manager?

I just found it.
'File'-'Create'-'Combine Files into a Single PDF' then 'Add Open Files'
This pulls in any tab that you have open into one file.
