how to hyperlink phone numbers throughout an entire file

we have large files with travel info - hotels etc and we need to hyperlink the phone numbers not just email addresses - is there a way to do this other than going through each individual page

we are creating a pdf from filemaker pro and microsoft word - we create travel itineraries - so it would be great to hyperlink the phone numbers of the hotels or contact people - so that you just click on the phone number and you are connected

It should be possible with custom JavaScript to identify the words that make up a phone number and create a link object around the words and set the hyperlink for the phone number. Identifying phone numbers may require identifying North America numbers and then international numbers.

You need to be aware these phone number links will only work on mobile devices and with apps that can process the phone link.
