How to sign without certification

New Here ,

Still searching for the way to sign a document electronically..not digitally using Adobe Acribat X Standard.   I just want to be able to insert my jpeg signature in Adobe Acrobat without any certification or the like.  I prepare letters in word processors, convert them to a pdf and then want to use the signnature function to sign the letter and I don't need it digitally signed (ie certifiied).   Why would I?  Its not a legal document.  I can do this using Adobe Reader....why the heck does Adobe Acrobat only allow digital signatures with certification and not allow me to drag and drop my signature onto the letter like I can when the pdf is opened in Adobe Reader?  Vexing.
