I can't use the "comb" formatting function

For some reason, when I'm preparing a PDF form, I have some number & text fields that I need to comb to match the background yet it comes up that I can't use it. Does anyone know how to fix this please? I'm using Acrobat DC through Creative Cloud.

Uncheck the entry "Limit of ..."
