I have a pdf version of my document that I want to edit. I just purchased the Adobe Acrobat DC, but I may have gotten the wrong product, as I can't figure out if it even allows me to edit a document. I want to add blank lines, remove one section further

I have a pdf version of my document that I want to edit.  I just purchased the Adobe Acrobat DC, but I may have gotten the wrong product, as I can't figure out if it even allows me to edit a document.  I want to add blank lines, remove one section further down and insert something else where it was.  Can it do that?

Acrobat DC Pro has some limited editing capabilities.

However, you must understand that PDF is a “final form file format” and not a layout format (such as a Word or InDesign document file). For example, PDF itself doesn't really have the concept of anything other than raster images, vectors, and runs of characters at particular locations, orientations, colors, etc. on a page. There is no native concept of words, sentences, paragraphs, etc. Heuristics do allow Acrobat to provide some simple editing, but primarily for simple corrections, movement, etc.

If you have extensive editing to do, it is always better to go back to the original source document, edit in the layout program or word processor associated with that file format, and then recreate the PDF file.
